Spring has officially sprung! Or at least we think so. Welcome the season with your cadets by decorating a Top Wing Bird House! To get started, have them pick their favorite feathery friend to make a single house. Or, take on the challenge of crafting the whole flock!
Difficulty Level: Medium
What You’ll Need:
- A Bird House Kit, found at most craft stores
- Acrylic paint
- Mod podge
- Paint brushes
- Hot glue gun
- Decorative foliage
- String
How to Make:
Step One: Paint sections of the birdhouse according to your kid’s bird of choice:
Bird |
Walls |
Base, Roof, Perch |
Swift |
Light Blue | Orange |
Penny |
Light Pink | Hot Pink |
Rod |
White |
Red |
Brody | Light Green |
Dark Green |
Step Two: When the pieces are completely dry, assemble the bird house.
Step Three: Print out a photo of your Top Wing bird(s) of choice.
Step Four: Decoupage the photo to the house using the mod podge.
Step Five: Decorate the roofs with foliage using a hot glue gun.
Step Six: Attach the strings and hang ’em up!
