How to Make

Step One: To re-create Penny’s costume, start by adding 3 dark pink buttons with a hot glue gun to a plain pink kids turtleneck. Cut 2 wide strips of dark pink felt and glue them along the armholes.

Step Two: To make Penny’s chest logo, print out the 3 1/2” long logo and use it as a stencil to cut it out of your light grey, dark grey and white self adhesive felt. Assemble it.

Step Three: For Penny’s belt, measure around your child’s waist, then use this measurement to cut a 1 1/2” wide black trim. Make a custom belt buckle by cutting out a 1 1/2”x 3” grey fun foam.

Step Four: Using a glue gun, attach pink trim to the side seams of white kids leggings.

Step Five: Using the photo above for reference, customize a store purchased helmet. Use a glue gun to attach 1/2” wide strip of pink felt alongside the helmet. Attach a 6” wide light pink strip in the center of the helmet, tapering it at the edges. Adhere a darker pink 2” wide felt strip on top of it. Cut out 2 custom shaped yellow fun foam fins and attach them to the helmet on either side. Cut out 2 pink fun foam circles 6” in diameter, cover them with pink felt. Add lighter pink felt rims on top. Make 2 pink felt logos like the chest logo from Step Two. Adhere logos in the middle of the circles. Glue a microphone on the right side of the helmet.

Step Six: For the beak, cut 2 sections of the egg carton, slice each one forming the beak shapes, glue them together, paint them yellow. Poke holes on the sides with an awl and attach the elastic.

Step Seven: For the watch, cut out a 1” wide and 6” long wrist band from pink fun foam. Cut out 2 fun foam circles: 2” and 1 1/2” in diameter. Center the smaller one on top of the bigger one, stick them to each other, attach to the wrist band.

Step Eight: Add contrast pink accents to customize pink rain boots.

Step Nine: Add navy blue kids mittens to complete the costume.
