There’s no one better than Blaze to help light up your kid’s room at night. This craft is sure to make your Blaze and the Monster Machine fan wheelie excited for bedtime!
What You’ll Need
Air-dry clay
Orange and black pipe cleaners
Red and orange glow-in-the-dark paint
Paintbrush
Black, white, blue, and neon orange paper
Small piece of cardboard
Scissors
Colored Pencils
Bottle caps
Hot glue
Large wooden craft stick
Glow-in-the-dark beads
Poster mounting putty
How to Make
Step 1: Flatten the air-dry clay into a rounded rectangle. Press the craft stick down lightly on the spots where the wheels will go. Poke a small hole through the clay with a colored pencil. Allow the clay to dry and paint Blaze’s body red.
Step 2: Take two pipe cleaners and twist them together to make one thicker pipe cleaner. Cut it in half. Push each half through one of the two front holes and secure in the back with glue or tape. Then, cut out two cardboard wheels and paint them black. Poke a small hole through the middle of each wheel. Pull the ends of your pipe cleaners through each wheel. Use the pipe cleaners to form spirals on the outside of the wheels. This holds the wheels in place and helps them spin!
Step 3: Paint the bottle caps with orange glow-in-the-dark paint. Tap some hot glue around the inner lip of the bottle caps. Attach these to thewheels — be careful not to get glue on the pipe cleaners.
Step 4: Cut cardboard and/or paper into square shapes to make Blaze’s windows. Attach them to the body using glue. Create Blaze’s eyes, mouth, and flame using paper, paint or colored pencils! Attach four glow-in-the-dark beads to the top of Blaze’s back window to give him lights.
Step 5: Add a clump of poster mounting putty to the back of Blaze. Stick him to the wall next to your nightlight and watch him GLOW!
